I would have to say Duolingo is not that great on teaching it. For example, by reading or listening to material in your target language, or even engaging with it (I have heard of services that connect language learners, so they can chat and practice together). For that, you need to revise your methods, and use other tools. I am even speaking a little Spanish with friends who understand it, so I am able to structure basic sentences.ĭuolingo is excellent at teaching you the basics and keeping you engaged, but it will probably not make you fluent. It helped tremendously, and I am now making progress again. And I also make notes for each section (basically rewriting the tips and notes in Duolingo in my own words).

Whenever I find a word hard, I write it down with the translation. What I did to overcome it, was to revert to the methods I did ten years ago. Things started to get a lot harder, and didn't stick. I am currently using duolingo to learn Spanish right now (level 5 at the moment) I love the app so far varied ways of testing your spanish and there are clear categories and organization in the language tree.
